La Val, this is how local people calls La Valle, is a little and quiet town of Val Badia, situated on the hills at the feet of the group Sas dla Crusc and of the meadows of Armentara, at 1348 above the sea level.
In the town prevail the agriculture and the handicraft, and there are still many traces of the rural life that once represented the whole economy of Val Badia. You can also still see the “viles”, little peasant villages, and feel the presence of the old ladin traditions. In recent years the town has become a tourist destination, also thanks to its strategic position between the Plan de Corones and Alta Badia.
The innate artistic talent of the inhabitants of La Val is clearly visible in the craft shops of Pederoa, where you will find weavers, wood works and other local artistic products. Very beautiful to visit are also the parish church of the town and the church of Santa Berbura, that can be considered the emblem of La Valle.
From La Valle you can directly reach the natural park of Fanes- Senes- Braies through the Sant Antone Pass, and in a few minutes you can also arrive to the meadows of Armentara, unique in Europe for their fauna and flora.
